Top Hats & Coat Tails Evening a day away!

Tomorrow eve, the thirteen of August, the Loyalists will face off against Euros at 8:30 pm. All are invited to attend what promises to be a smashing match. Being proper fans, please be sure to dress in appropriate evening wear, with coat tails and top hats strongly recommended. All editions of the Financial Times will be checked at the door, and discussions during the match concerning economics and American Tax law will be sternly reprimanded. Bringing good spirit and a booming singing voice is a must, and arrival by 8:15pm will allow you to participate in the customary three 3 shot cheer. Until then, good evening and good night. God save the Loyalists.

It has come to our attention at Parsimony House (long live the Crown Dependencies Palatinate!) that certain of the gentlemen supporters in attendance at this last match of the Loyalists did themselves and the Laws of the Game a grievous dishonour by appearing in morning long-tail frock rather than evening formal.

We feel it at once right and most definitely proper to once again revisit the unfortunate and necessary particulars regarding this time honored tradition of all English gentlemen in times of sport...

namely, the evening shade, when made to most resemble the unknown colours of our Empire's Darkest Frontiers do seem best in hiding the result of the cause for such liberal disengagement from the heretofore recognized norms of our civil society - which is to say, that the ebon hue is recognized by all our Royal Scientists and Men of Learning to serve better in concealing the 'sick' which is always associated with honorable gentlemen of breeding appearing in the after-hours still attired in their morning wear.
We trust that this matter of surpassing importance will not need addressing again in the pages of this broadside.
Long Live the King!
God Save the Loyalists!
